Power BI DashboardsOgletree Deakins is a global labor and employment law firm with 1,100 attorneys across 60 offices, spanning the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The firm represents a diverse range of clients, including many of the Fortune 50 companies.
The Challenge
Ogletree Deakins relied on a SharePoint 2013 on-premises platform for client collaboration. Over time, the system became increasingly outdated, unsupported and burdensome:
- Outdated software created frequent breakdowns and integration issues with the firm’s Document Management System (DMS).
- Heavy maintenance demands placed significant pressure on Ogletree’s IT team, limiting their ability to support client-facing applications.
- Restricted scalability prevented the firm from consolidating tools and delivering seamless collaboration at the pace clients required.
These challenges carried high stakes. Every client interaction placed the firm’s reputation on the line. Inconsistent document syncing, delayed site creation, or system failures risked undermining attorney confidence and client trust.
The Solution
To address these issues, Ogletree was able to extend their existing implementation of the Infodash platform, their ODConnect intranet, into a modern, client-facing extranet solution known as the Ogletree Collab Hub.
The solution provided:
- Secure, client and matter-based collaboration sites that met client expectations for document sharing.
- The ability to embed client-facing, dynamic dashboards
- The ability to auto-provision new sites quickly and reliably, without overburdening IT and Client Solutions team.
- A support model that allowed Ogletree to rely on Infodash’s expertise, freeing IT resources for other high-value projects.
Key Highlights
Build vs. Buy
Ogletree had historically built solutions in-house using Microsoft platforms. However, the introduction of Infodash’s extranet features was a turning point.
Instead of diverting scarce IT bandwidth, Ogletree chose Infodash for four key reasons:
- Trusted relationship established through years of intranet success.
- Proven platform designed specifically for law firm needs.
- Infodash’s understanding of the legal industry and knowledge of Ogletree’s environment enabled fast implementation and delivered the features needed today and for the future.
- Responsive support model that ensured a smooth, collaborative rollout.
This let Ogletree focus on innovation and knowledge management while relying on Infodash to deliver a stable, client-ready platform.
“Infodash stood out because it enabled us to quickly move away from an aging platform without the overhead of custom development. We evaluated building our own extranet solution on SharePoint Online but ultimately selected Infodash because it gave us a feature-rich, future-ready platform right out of the box and complemented our use of Infodash for our intranet. The migration off SharePoint 2013 has been smooth, and Infodash has proven to be a true partner.”
David Boland, CKIO at Ogletree Deakins
